A Bookworm's Flower Garden

My Glory doily blanket has been giving me quite a bit of issues lately. I've had to undo multiple rows, which can be a little disheartening. So, I decided to take a little break and use up some of my leftover yarn creating these charming bookmarks.

I followed this pattern, but wasn't a huge fan of the bulkiness. I also suppose the turquoise and red combination was a bit too psychedelic for me. Every time I look at it I'm reminded of a colorful lollipop ;p.

I'm not one to easily give up though :). I tried again, but this time I only used one strand of yarn. I was much more pleased, although it wasn't quite perfect yet.

An hour and a half later I had created three more bookmarks ... I tend to obsess over things if you haven't noticed ;p. My Mom loves daisies, so I tried to create one for her. I think I succeeded :). The last two were a result of me trying out different techniques for the petals. I really like how my version of the flower bookmarks lay flat against the top of the book. They resemble legit flowers :D.

I've already found loving homes for three of my bookmarks. I really enjoy creating things and then giving them to people who understand the effort that's gone into making them. It's such a rewarding experience.
